Status is something that doesn’t need to be spoken about or written down, because it is just known between people. We sense it.

The dictionary definition refers to status with the following:

Status (noun): The position of an individual in relation to another or others, especially in regard to social or professional standing.

In other words – how you rank in the social hierarchy, in any given situation where people are involved. So, let’s have a look at a common example you might see in everyday life.

The High-Status Guy & His Girl: The next time you see a guy who is conveying high-status, notice that he won’t clinging to his girl for social support/safety like a guy who thinks he is lesser than everyone else.

In fact the High Status Guy’s woman will often be clinging to him, trying to get his attention, reaching in to give him kisses and orienting her herself to his body language movements and cues.

She will walk where he walks, look to him for cues and listen to what he says.

In a restaurant, he won’t look at her or at others to figure out how to behave. He’ll take cues from himself and do his own thing. He’ll take up as much space as he needs and may even respectfully move some tables and chairs to suit himself, or spread his legs apart on a couch while others keep them closed.

No doubt about it, live a pimp lifestyle has becoming a trend. However, pimps, if we stick to what it originally means, should not be considered as role models.
The only appropriate occasions to dress like one was if you were an actual pimp or if you was at a Halloween party. But pimp clothing as evolved with time. Even though you can still find shining pimp suits in green, red or purple; the Era now is to Bling Bling and steetwear.
The reason for that being that Gangsta Rap almost grabbed the Pimp Flag and made it is own. And we will refer to Gangsta Rap on a broad scale. Don’t limit yourself to California. But still, the new pimp anthem became more famous thanks to the featuring of a californian artist. Obviously I am talking about Snoop Dogg and 50 cent. Snoop Dogg is some kindda pimp idol for all the pimps and pimp wannabees.
If American Pimp Idol was on television, the finalists would most certainly be: 1st Snoop Dogg, 2nd 50cent, Don Magic Juan in the old scholl pimp category, Big Boi (Outkast) and LL Cool J for best rapper makeover over the years, and D4L for best pimp band.
